Your general practitioner, or in fact any doctor, are unlikely to sign any fit to do letter for you ever again after this, it’s not worth it in any sense of it. Doctors can sign the forms if they feel specialist qualification allows them to judge the facts and they are indemnified, but otherwise, I can’t see any circumstance where taking this risk is worth it?! Eczema is a common skin condition and doctors try their best to help with hand symptoms but for some people even the Dermovate and Elidel stop working eventually. For patients whose lives have been changed by the hand eczema, like many of mine who have had to change careers because of it, such solutions in the advancement of medicine will hopefully one day filter down to more effective medicines with less side effects that we can use to help patients in general practice. #eczema #dermatology #gp

Child Safeguarding is part of my role as a GP and all doctors, nurses and hospital staff have to do safeguarding training.
