Here at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve our site is layed out differently than many other National Parks. Because of the river and the gorge's steep walls what may look like a short distance can take a confusing amount of time to traverse. The most common example of this confusion is that Sandstone Visitor Center and Sandstone Falls are about 30 mins apart.
