Here's a look at some of the work going on at the State Highway 58 Moonshine road site located between Transmission Gully and Hutt Valley. Workers are building up the foundation layers required for the construction of the roundabout at Moonshine Road. In the video you can see trucks carting material from a local quarry for use as a subgrade improvement layer. Subgrade is the layer of soil that sits underneath pavement or road and serves as a load-bearing layer that directly supports the pavement
