Elmina Slave Castle. Founded in 1482 by Portuguese traders for the storage of goods but later converted to a place for the storage of slaves in before transportation to Europe and America. The building is 543 years old today and still standing. It’s a UNESCO Heritage Site and visitors from around the world (particularly African Americans) troop in here in hundreds everyday. | Back in History

In honor of Black History Month here’s a tour of a real slave dungeon, Elmina Castle located in Ghana. I visited Elmina Castle twice. Both times change me forever. My success is personal! I owe it to my ancestors! I want them to know they didn’t die in vain for my life. Their still resilience runs through our bloodline. Black people, unbreakable people! We are magical! We are dynamic!
