Today marks the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar Massacre in Ukraine. Nearly 34,000 Jews from Kyiv were shot to death on September 29 and 30, 1941, by SS and German police units and their auxiliaries at Babi Yar, a ravine in the northwest of the city. Mirgazim Sabirov was a teenager when he witnessed firsthand the mass execution of the Jewish people. The Babi Yar Massacre, which occurred over two days in September 1941, remains one of the most horrific examples of mass murder during the Holocaust.
