Fixing Texas clay soil with cover crops! . We've used 3 different types of cover crops @the.teaching.garden to improve the native soil which is mostly clay and rocks! . We sowed Winter Rye and Crimson Clover from @growhoss in the fall and let them go until February when we terminated them. We also grew a bartender radish which behaved much like a tillage radish which is great for breaking up the clay! But the area that we grew Rye in specifically had issues with soil erosion and drainage problem
