When Rover launched this it won Car Of The Year, understandably so. The P6 was Rover's 6th post war project and they also tested it as a gas turbine car, a simplified engine, fewer moving parts, but unfortunately terrible fuel economy. It was not viable. Even for motor racing, it proved to be too inefficient to compete with the turbine, as much as I do love the sound a gas turbine powered car makes.
