The Lowy Institute today- Wednesday launched the Pacific Aid Map 2025 Key Findings Report,revealing that aid to Pacific Island countries has fallen to pre-pandemic levels due to a sharpdecline in lending. The report highlights that Australia has maintained its aid levels despite reductions from other Western donors, while China’s aid model has become more sophisticated, with record grant funding and expanded grassroots projects.
