“I had a regular customer who would come in almost every day. She speaks in dialect. She’s an elderly lady. One day, she came in with a letter that she did not understand. She asked for my help to read the letter. Some things that we do are beyond banking and these things are really built on trust,” shares Adeline, who started working as a bank teller at POSB in 1976. In 1972, POSB became an independent statutory board. To provide better service, the bank started to have separate counters in the
