MGM+ isn't just a subscription service but an actual batch of premium channels on cable, it used to be called Epix. Probably couldn't shut it down so they decided to rebrand it and keep it running. They have MGM and Paramount film rights I believe, sharing the former with Prime obviously and the latter with Paramount+
