May 23, 1974-July 4, 1975: A special variant was used to commemorate MGM's 50th anniversary. At the top, "Metro Goldwyn Mayer" (in the same font as the 1957 logo) is in yellowish-gold, and the wreath is slightly thinner.

The fifth lion in the black and white version of the MGM logo, 1957-1983. Leo, the seventh lion, is MGM's longest-lived lion, having appeared on most MGM films since 1957. He has a smaller mane than any of the other lions (which is because he was at a very young age compared to his predecessors when his roaring was filmed).
