The man shot and killed by Milwaukee police on August 9 was identified as 31-year-old Dandre McIntosh. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office released McIntosh's identity nearly two days after Milwaukee Police Department officials said he died while trading gunfire with four officers.

DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose rushed towards the scene of the active shooter near Emory University and the CDC. He died after being shot, according to the GBI. At his academy graduation, Rose was the class leader and spoke at the graduation.
