Republican Gov. Patrick Morrisey has issued a slew of aggressive executive orders on his first day as West Virginia's chief executive.

This follows companies the likes of Meta, Walmart, Lowe’s, Toyota, and Ford among others that rolled back their DEI practices.

The order tasks state agencies with completing a review of all DEI initiatives and positions in their department.

Like Morrissey, President-elect Donald Trump has promised to fire out a flurry of executive orders as soon as he returns to the White House following his inauguration ceremony on Monday and he too has complained about DEI and perceived “wokeness” in America’s public institutions.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey signed an executive order Tuesday banning diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at all public institutions, including universities across the state. “Theories of DEI are contrary to equal protection guarantees of the West Virginia and United States Constitution,” the executive order states.
