The second day of Paris Air Show 2025 is well underway with defense giants dominating the early headlines, but Airbus later swept in with a huge Vietjet order.

In a Tuesday note to clients, Bank of America analysts highlighted their key takeaways from the 2025 Paris Air Show.

The Air India crash has overshadowed the US giant’s contribution to the world’s largest aerospace industry gathering.

AviLease, a global commercial aircraft lessor, has placed an initial order for 10 A350F freighters and 55 A320neo family aircraft on the opening day of the Paris Air Show. This agreement also leaves open the possibility of increasing this order volume to 22 A350F and 55 A320neo aircraft, Airbus added.

Boeing's CEO pulled out of the Paris Air Show following the Air India crash, which has set a somber mood for the aviation and defense event at Le Bourget.

China has recently seen a rise in fighter aircraft sales in developing countries, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia.

The Paris Air Show takes place this week, but the Air India incident with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on June 12 will likely cast a cloud over the event, typically dominated by blockbuster jet orders, and put safety back at the heart of the discussions.

Airbus has signed a framework agreement with Naval Group for each Systèmes de Drone Aérien pour la Marine (SDAM) system to contain an Airbus VSR-700, operated with Naval Group’s Steeris Mission System, with the aviation giant also responsible for integrating the SDAM onto the French Navy’s vessels.
