The current average mortgage rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage is 6.57% with an APR of 6.60%, according to the Mortgage Research Center. The 15-year fixed mortgage has an average rate of 5.51% with an APR of 5.

The average rate on 30-year fixed home loans registered 6.72% for the week ending July 31, barely down from 6.74% last week.
