Concerns that a high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak fuel in 2023-2025 Accords, CR-V Hybrids, and Honda Civics prompted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to request the recall.

Honda said that "due to a defective high-pressure fuel pump core, cracks may form inside the fuel pump." Those cracks can grow while the pump is running, and if they do it can lead to a fuel leak.
