A group of 30 state and national organizations has condemned elected officials for posts about a Greely High School student that eventually led to the showdown between Gov. Janet Mills and President Donald Trump.

Today was the first day back for students since President Donald Trump threatened to take away federal funding from the state.

Leaders at Greely High School in Cumberland, Maine — the school at the center of controversy over a transgender student competing in girls' sports — announced Friday that they would increase security at the school starting Monday.
