LeBron James just surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leader in regular-season minutes played. James now has 57,471 minutes played following the 34 minutes he played on Thursday (Dec. 19)’s Lakers vs Sacramento match.

Sure, James' numbers are likely going to decline the deeper into his 40s he plays. But at least at his point of entry, he is far and away the greatest 40-year-old basketball player of all time. And so, with apologies to urkle91, James isn't just defying the typical NBA age curve, he's completely shattering it.

LeBron James said he has another 5-7 years left in him, he told reporters on his Sunday, Dec. 30 birthday, but added that he likely won't play professionally for that long and is looking at retirement.
