Vice President JD Vance was forced to break his silence and go into damage control mode after Elon Musk suggested Trump should be impeached and replaced.

Elon Musk’s once-rosy relationship with President Donald Trump has turned sour in a high-profile political and financial feud that has played out publicly on social media. The fallout began after Musk stepped up his attacks on the sweeping tax and spending bill the president wants to see pushed through Congress,

Musk also acknowledged an X post from Vance, sharing a laughing emoji in response to the Vice President's commentary that it had been a “slow news day.” Revealing he was sitting down with popular podcaster Theo Vaughn for an interview, Vance quipped: “What are we even going to talk about?”

Republican allies of the two men expressed hope that they would make peace, or at least ease the tensions that broke out Thursday.
