Around 761,100 people in Alabama, or roughly 15% of the state’s population, receive assistance from SNAP, according to 2022 data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

According to the Alabama DHR, the average monthly benefit is about $121. To apply for Alabama SNAP benefits, you can visit MyDHR to create an account and fill out the online application.
