More than a dozen mosquito samples have tested positive for West Nile virus in Suffolk County, New York, health officials say.

The New York City Department of Health has announced additional days for mosquito spraying, as the number of mosquitoes that have tested positive for the West Nile virus has climbed to 272. As of Saturday Staten Island and Queens reported the most positive results,

NEW YORK, New York (WABC) -- West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island during the past two weeks, according to the New York City Health Department On Thursday, the New York City Health Department treated sites on Staten Island with pesticide sprays to reduce mosquito activity.
