The Detroit Tigers missed out on a reunion with one of their best players in franchise history, but spent the same amount he got on someone else.

Justin Verlander, who pitched for the Detroit Tigers from 2005-17, wants to achieve 300 wins, but he remains 38 wins from the historic milestone.

Verlander was way better than his numbers with the Astros in 2024, and there's almost no such thing as a risky one-year deal. Look for him to pad his Hall of Fame resume.
