"Regrettably, less than 24 hours after receiving this order, a tragic series of events occurred in Traverse City," the sheriff's office said.

The 11 victims in Saturday’s stabbing spree in Traverse City were all rushed to Munson Medical Center, a hospital just four miles away from the site of the stabbings.

"I'm still sitting and grappling with the weight of realizing that it was kind of a life-or-death moment," said Julia Martell, who witnessed the stabbing, which wounded 11 people.
