The mayor also shed light on the series of events at the water plant that led to major flooding inside the building and days without access to drinking water for residents.

Mayor Danny Avula said Thursday that the city’s reservoir is full and the water system is fully pressurized, but a boil advisory could be in place until Saturday.

Richmond's water problems linger, and the repercussions are being felt in the neighboring counties of Hanover and Henrico.

Meanwhile additional bottled water and tanker trucks are being brought in. Avula said members of the Virginia National Guard deployed overnight, bringing tanker trailers and distributing bottled water. Suppliers like Walmart and Amazon have also brought tractor trailers filled with bottled water.
