A lawyer representing Meta in a copyright case said he was dropping the company as a client due to CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s “descent into toxic masculinity.” The move comes as employees and associates of the social media company grapple with their founder’s apparent attempts to pivot rightward before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week.

Mark Zuckerberg is doubling down on more cartoon villainy this week by proposing to lay off more than 3,600 employees — or roughly five percent of Meta 's "lowest performers." Of course, in true capitalist fashion, he plans to backfill those positions later this year.

The layoffs come as Mark Zuckerberg pushes to remake his company for the Trump era and prepares to co-host a gala for the president-elect’s inauguration.

Meta will cut about 5% of its workforce, focusing on getting rid of low-performing employees at the social media giant.
