Jakucionis, who was selected by the Heat with the 20th pick in the first round of last month’s draft, closed the Heat’s Las Vegas opener with 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 5-of-9 shooting on threes and 5-of-5 shooting from the foul line, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and two turnovers in 28 minutes.

The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Utah Jazz in their first Las Vegas Summer League game on Friday, 111-105. Liam McNeeley, the Hornets’ rookie first-round draft pick, helped steer the ship in a tight one, finishing with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

Noa Essengue struggled to stand out in his Las Vegas debut Friday night as the Chicago Bulls floundered in an ugly 116-72 loss to the Toronto Raptors.

Reed Sheppard did it all for the Houston Rockets in their Las Vegas Summer League opener on Friday night. In fact, the second-year guard did essentially everything on the floor more than any other Rockets player. Sheppard led Houston in six major statistical categories in the matchup with the Clippers:
