Snowfall reports from our station in north Wichita indicate a total of 3 inches so far. 5 p.m. Update: Westbound I-70 is now reopen at Goodland, according to KDOT. It was previously closed because of winter weather conditions in Colorado.

Kansas City International Airport, for example, has an 85% chance of snowfall exceeding .1 of an inch, according to data from the weather service. The probability of higher snowfall totals drops rapidly, with only a 50% chance of snowfall exceeding 1 inch. The chance of 2 inches or more of snow is less than 10%.

The Kansas City region is expected to get between 2-3 inches of snow Thursday night. And after the blizzard already cancelled classes for several days, Kansas City Public Schools already called a weather emergency day Friday,

Every state from Kansas to Delaware logged at least one report of 10 inches or more of snow. At one point, some 70 million Americans were under winter storm warnings.

Another massive winter storm is forecast to pummel the southern and eastern U.S., with impacts from Texas to the Carolinas.

The Kansas City metro is still digging itself out from a nearly-record 11 inches of snow that got dumped by a blizzard over the weekend. Roads remain icy and treacherous, however, and much of the city remains shut down.

Some residents in the KC-metro area have noticed water damage on their ceilings after the major snow storm that trekked through the region, so KSHB 41 News asked local roofing professionals about it.

Kansas law reads: “No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster or other nontransparent material upon the front windshield, side wings or side or rear windows of such vehicle which substantially obstructs, obscures or impairs the driver’s clear view of the highway or any intersecting highway.”

Up to 3 inches of snow could fall overnight in central and west central Missouri and southeastern Kansas Thursday night.
