Responding Officers located a male victim in the yard of a residence located near the intersection of South Hopkins Street and Ambassador W. LeMelle Drive. The victim was transported by Ambulance to a Lafayette hospital where he remains in critical condition.

A shooting in New Iberia left one in critical condition and caused a six-hour standoff between police and suspected shooter.

The 29-year-old is suspected in a shooting Saturday near the intersection of South Hopkins Street and Ambassador W. LeMelle Drive. The victim is in critical condition.

After reviewing evidence and conducting interviews, Detectives identified three suspects involved in the incident. Arrest Warrants were obtained on all three individuals. Joseph Thibodeaux, Jr. All three individuals are considered armed and dangerous.
