A gunman who reportedly shot five soldiers at Georgia's Fort Stewart is in custody after an active shooter situation at the Army post.

Five soldiers were shot on Wednesday in an active shooter incident in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area, Fort Stewart officials confirmed.

An Army sergeant opened fire at Fort Stewart in Georgia, shooting five soldiers and prompting a brief lockdown at one the country's largest Army bases, officials said.
