A holiday drone show in Florida was forced to cancel its second performance this weekend after it suffered 'technical difficulties,' resulting in the injury of a young boy, whose mother wrote on social media was 'fighting for his life' after the event.

A Holiday Drone Show in Orlando was canceled after some drones fell into the crowd during Saturday's performance, seriously injuring a 7-year-old boy. Two performances were scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21. The second was canceled "due to technical difficulties," the City of Orlando posted on Facebook.

A theme park resort and a huge hotel in central Florida have either stopped using drones or cancelled their drone-based shows after several drones collided and fell from the sky during a separate holiday celebration in downtown Orlando.

The New York Road Runners said that they have cancelled their planned drone show over Central Park after a drone program gone awry injured a child in Florida. Channel 7 News reported that the same vendor that handled the Florida show was in line to produce the aerial show over Central Park on New Year’s Eve.
