Everett Police arrested a man for the stabbing of a 13-year-old student near North Middle School. The community tip led to his non-confrontational arrest and he faces first-degree assault charges.

Police in Everett have arrested a 21-year-old man in the stabbing of a teenage boy that happened earlier this month.Investigators picked up Andrew Freeman, who has a long criminal history, on Wednesday afternoon.

Andrew Freeman, the suspect in the January 16 stabbing of a 13-year-old near the 2500 block of Broadway, was taken into custody by Everett Police Wednesday, according to a police statement.

EVERETT, Wash. — Everett police say the person of interest in the stabbing of a teen boy about a block from North Middle School on Jan. 16 was taken into custody hours after the attack, but for reasons not related to the stabbing.

On January 29th, 2025, at approximately 4:00 pm, Everett Police Officers took Andrew Freeman into custody. Freeman had been identified as the suspect in the stabbing that took place on Jan. 16th, 2025. Before police knew who the suspect was, he was arrested the same day for other crimes, then released.
