RALEIGH, N.C. - Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired goaltender Cayden Primeau from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft.

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed Cayden Primeau to a one-year, $775,000 contract. Primeau was a restricted free agent after the conclusion of his three-year contract with an $890,000 cap hit.
