Former New York Jets coach Rex Ryan made some interesting comments about the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The New York Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach and could be going back to an old friend to fill the vacancy. Rex Ryan, who coached the Jets from 2009-2014, completed his interview for his old position Tuesday.

Rex Ryan emphatically stated "No" when asked if Aaron Rodgers would be suiting up for the New York Jets in 2025.

Rodgers joined "The Pat McAfee Show" to offer an important update on his retirement plans, and whether he sees a future playing with the Jets. "It's gonna come down to the GM and coach and myself and whether we all want to do a dance together or if it's not in the cards," Rodgers stated.

It's too early to say whether Aaron Rodgers' 20th season was his final one in the NFL. Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Thursday, the four-time NFL MVP and future Hall of Famer said he's going to wait on who the next head coach and general manager of the New York Jets is before he decides whether he wants to continue playing.

Meanwhile, the New York Jets continue to dither in their long searches for a new general manager and head coach. If the rumors that Aaron Glenn is the leading candidate for head coach are true, perhaps we will see a decision there soon now that Glenn’s Lions are eliminated from the playoffs.
