Bannon served four months in prison in 2024 after defying a congressional subpoena from the January 6 Committee. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to defrauding donors to his We Build the Wall nonprofit, avoiding more jail time. President Donald Trump previously pardoned Bannon for related federal charges.
Bannon may have been accusing the Democrats of "stealing" a federal election in 2020, as well as insinuating that Trump lost that election in part because the Chinese "dropped" a pandemic on the U.S. As we have reported previously, there is no evidence to show that the 2020 election was stolen.
The top Trump ally is fretting about the fallout if Republicans lose the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race.
