Ben Johnson was shown two yellow cards in the first half as Alexander Isak, Dan Burn, William Osula scored second-half goals in Newcastle United's decisive win at St. James' Park.

Newcastle United put last weekend’s heavy defeat at Aston Villa behind them but they were made to work hard to overcome Ipswich Town, who were relegated to the Championship. Newcastle spent long periods camped in the visitors’ half but could not break through for most of the opening half.

Newcastle and Chelsea have picked up victories in the Premier League to move into the Champions League qualification positions as Ipswich became the third and final team to be relegated.
