Memphis Grizzlies projected to finish top three in NBA defense in 2024-25
The Memphis Grizzlies have a lot on their plate as the 2024-25 NBA regular season approaches. While minor early injuries have dampened some of the new year's excitement, the good news is that Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr ., and Marcus Smart are pacing to start the 82-game slate healthy.

Edey missed most of the NBA Summer League with injuries, but he played in all five of the Grizzlies' preseason games. He scored in double figures in three of those games. His best preseason performance came against the Pacers, when he had 23 points and nine rebounds. He played between 18 and 22 minutes in all five games.

Even with Pippen's new deal, the Grizzlies still have an open roster spot to start the season. That means general manager Zach Kleiman has some flexibility. He could sign one of the two-way players (Kawamura, Jay Huff and Cam Spencer) to a standard deal, or he could use it on a free-agent signing. That slot could also be useful in trades.
