About 30 beaches in various cities and towns in Massachusetts are closed Sunday. A majority of the 27 beaches were closed due to high bacteria levels, according to the state Department of Public Health. These included Gray’s in Yarmouth and two beaches in Salem.

As of Saturday morning, there were 30 beaches closed across the Bay State, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s interactive beach water quality dashboard. Nearly all of those bodies of water are closed due to harmful bacteria levels, the dashboard indicated.
