Aston Villa have agreed a €35 million ($47m) deal for Nice forward Evann Guessand, sources have told ESPN. The 24-year-old will travel to Birmingham for a medical on Thursday, prior to signing a five-year deal. Guessand had a breakout 2024-25 campaign with the French club, scoring 12 goals and contributing 8 assists in 33 games in Ligue 1.

Unai Emery is said to have agreed to sign the 24-year-old in a deal worth £28 million, with Guessand booked in for a medical and set to sign a five-year contract until 2030 at Villa Park. According to Sky Sports, the transfer will cost an initial £23.5 million that will potentially rise to almost £28 million should certain bonuses be met.

Digne, who had entered the final year of his existing deal this summer, outlined his desire to remain at the club at the end of last season.
