Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has kicked off a visit to China meant to shore up the countries’ trade relations

Australia's iron exports to China are on the table today as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese continues his official visit, while questions continue to swirl around national security and Australia's military partnership with the US. It's day two of Albanese's visit, with a big business expansion top of the list.

The latest Bureau of Statistics data showed short term visitor arrivals in Australia at 8.5 per cent below 2019 levels, with the market out of China among the slowest to return. In the 12 months to April, New Zealand accounted for 19 per cent of all visitor arrivals followed by China at 12 per cent and the UK at 9 per cent.
