As expected, Tristan Jarry’s return to the NHL roster was merely to create space at the AHL level so netminder Joel Blomqvist could play games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and remain sharp for the resumption of the NHL’s regular season this weekend.

The Penguins recalled Jarry from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre shortly after their 3-2 loss in Philadelphia Saturday night, their final game before the NHL’s break for the Four Nations tournament.

On Tuesday, the Penguins recalled goaltender Joel Blomqvist and forward Emil Bemstrom from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate. In a corresponding move, goaltender Tristan Jarry was re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
