At least five people have been shot at a school in the city of Örebro, central Sweden, according to local police.

Five people were shot and wounded at a school in the central Swedish city of Orebro on Tuesday, police said, urging the public to stay away from the area as a large operation was underway. Images from the scene showed a large police presence with multiple ambulances and emergency vehicles outside the school.

The shooting is believed to have taken place at Campus Risbergska, which caters for students over the age of 20 in the town of Orebro. There has been no update on the extent of those injured.
