Democratic Gov. Tim Walz said in a social media post that he had been in contact with the White House after the shooting. He called on the President Donald Trump to end the crackdown in his state.

The incident, which was caught on video, marks the second deadly shooting by federal officers in Minneapolis in less than a month.

"This is a stark reminder of the dangers of the job," the Portland mayor said.
