Nintendo has promoted the Amazon service, along with similar streaming services from Hulu and Netflix, as part of its efforts to brand the Wii U as more than a game console.

Amazon has followed ASDA's lead and has trimmed the cost of Nintendo's 8GB Wii U model down to £149 on the nose. Both retailers have now cut the cost of Nintendo's rig by £100 apiece.
