WASHINGTON, Jan 7 (Reuters) - The White House is withdrawing its nomination of Ryan Baasch for a Federal Trade Commission seat and instead naming him deputy director of the National Economic Council, elevating his role in shaping tech, telecom and competition policy, a White House official told Reuters.

One bill was designed to help local communities finance the construction of a pipeline to provide water to tens of thousands in Colorado. The other designated a site in Everglades National Park as a part of the Miccosukee Indian Reservation.

The administration has ignored requests for information about whether any asbestos safety precautions were taken.

The president’s net approval rating among the middle class declined from -10 in October (43 percent approve, 53 percent disapprove) to -12 in November (43 percent approve, 55 percent disapprove), and further to -17 in December (40 percent approve, 57 percent disapprove).
