The Carolina Hurricanes are back in action for a somewhat-rare Monday night showdown on the road against the Boston Bruins. It’s a rematch of a game that took place just over two weeks ago at the TD Garden that the Canes dropped 2-1 after falling behind by a pair and getting just the one tally on a bomb from Alexander Nikishin.

Marat Khusnutdinov, Mason Lohrei and Viktor Arvidsson scored, and David Pastrnak had two assists for Boston (12-8-0), which has won eight of its past nine games. Jeremy Swayman made 26 saves.

In Tanner Jeannot and Mark Kastelic, Minten is riding between two of the brashest Bruins when it comes to gloves-off activity.

A redirected shot on a Montreal power play jumped up and hit Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy in the face. Players on both teams motioned to the Boston bench, and medical staff came onto the ice in a hurry. The Bruins announced that McAvoy wouldn’t return early in the third period.

Former Boston Bruins forward Nick Foligno is set to miss some time. While speaking to reporters, Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill announced that Foligno will be out for four weeks due to a hand injury.
