Here's a way-too-early 53-man roster prediction for the 49ers based on what we've seen and learned so far this offseason.
SANTA CLARA — Three practices at 49ers training camp have offered a mere appetizer of what’s to come, from the stars to the scrubs. Here is a premature evaluation of an under-the-radar player (or not an entrenched starter) at each position that’s sparking intrigue:
Perhaps no coordinator in the NFL is under more pressure than Saleh, whom the 49ers pounced on in the offseason following his dismissal last Oct. 8 as head coach of the New York Jets. Saleh did some consulting for Green Bay, had a couple of head coaching interviews, but ultimately returned to the 49ers.
Although it's still early, former 49ers quarterback Trey Lance seems to be doing well on the Los Angeles Chargers.
