Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is suing Google for renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” on Google Maps for users in the United States. The tech giant made the change in February after President Donald Trump signed an executive order that instituted the name change across the federal government.

President Sheinbaum argues Trump's executive order applies only to the US portion of the continental shelf.

One of President Donald Trump's first moves when he returned to the Oval Office earlier this year was to direct federal government departments to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
