The TCU Horned Frogs are now 2–2 on the season following a 67–63 defeat to the sixth-ranked Michigan Wolverines. Despite the loss, TCU delivered its best performance of the season against one of the nation’s top teams.
Coming into Saturday night’s matchup with No. 12 BYU, the visiting TCU Horned Frogs were giving up an average of 237 passing yards per game — only good enough for 86th in the country.
“They answered the call,” TCU head coach Sonny Dykes said of BYU. “... I thought they just made plays. I thought their quarterback played exceptionally well, took care of the ball. They didn’t turn the ball over. So you got to give them a lot of credit.
Between McKenney’s go-ahead 3-point play and his 3-pointer only 1:23 later, Johnson had a layup. Johnson followed that in the closing stretch with a strong inside basket and then a putback to give Michigan it’s largest lead of the night at 61-54.
TCU men's basketball was very close to pulling off a top-ten win Friday night. The Frogs lost 67-63 to No. 6 Michigan and could not get enough shots to fall late.
