Poland to hold presidential election on May 18, says parliament speaker who will run in it
The head of Poland's parliament said Wednesday that the country's presidential election will be held on May 18, with a runoff on June 1 if needed. Hołownia himself is also a presidential candidate, running as the leader and founder of his party, Poland 2050 (Renew). The former Catholic activist and entertainment TV host entered politics in late 2019 to run in the last presidential election but did not make it to the second round.
