Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was released from jail Monday afternoon and will not face criminal charges after he was arrested Friday evening on weapons charges during a traffic stop for vehicle code violations,

Shortly before Perryman was released from custody, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh addressed the linebacker's arrest at training camp. Harbaugh said he visited Perryman on Sunday, and the team was prepared to let the legal process play out.

One of the veterans of the Chargers’ defense, Perryman, 32, had 55 tackles and one sack last season. He returned to the Chargers in 2024 — the team that drafted him in 2015 — after stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Houston Texans.
